Weber, Shirley Howard. VOYAGES & TRAVELS IN GREECE THE NEAR EAST, AND ADJACENT REGIONS, Made Previous To The Year 1801; Being A Part Of A Larger Catalogue Of Works On Geography, Cartography, Voyages And Travels, In The Gennadius Library In Athens. $55.00
Cloth. Oversized Octavo. vii, 208 p. Princeton, American School of Classical Studies at Athens, 1953.

This bibliography is the second in the Gennadius series of bibliographies on travels to Greece. It describes 860 published books published prior to 1801. Included are travel accounts, voyages, descriptive and topographic works and guide books. Full collations are provided, as are frequent annotations. There is also an index of travelers and authors, as well as a general index.
This is the first Martino Publishing reprint of this work as a separate book. In 1997 we published this volume, along with its companion, together in one book. That edition is now out of print.
A basic reference in the field, and notoriously hard to find in the original edition. Though published in the U.S., it was printed in Europe, and relatively few copies seemed to have made it back into the marketplace. Sheehy D51 and Besterman 574.

Weitenkampf, Frank. ENO COLLECTION OF NEW YORK CITY VIEWS. $45.

Cloth. Oversized Octavo. Illustrated. 82 pages. New York, New York: New York Public Library, 1925.

The New York Public Library purchased the Amos F. Eno Collection of New York City Views after Eno's death in 1915.
In a stroke, the NYPL added 450 items to its store of prints illustrating the growth of the City and its aspect at different times and in various places. The Eno Collection, one of the most important of its kind, adds richly to the NYPL's mass of material on the subject. The prints are arranged chronologically, the first dating from 1650. Each print has a small annotation, the location, a description of the printing process used, and relevant information concerning artist, attribution, or location in books or periodicals. Besides Manhattan, there are sections on Brooklyn, Staten Island, and New York State. Weitenkampf also provides a valuable and very thorough artist-title-subject index.
